Transcript:

“I knew it!  You LIKE how you look!”

“No I don’t! Well... maybe a little bit.”

“Don’t worry, you’ll change a bit more.  We all grow more beautiful the stronger our power becomes.  All of us went through it, now it’s your turn.”

Simon tilted her head to the side, trying hard to suppress the smile that was forming on her now-soft lips.  Being a girl for a week had softened the shock of seeing her feminine reflection. Still, Simon was in awe of her new subtle beauty.  The young woman had been caught several times staring at her own reflection, trying to etch her new appearance into her mind.  She hated to admit that her sister was right but Simon LOVED how she looked.   Her supple milk chocolate skin was positively radiant and felt so soft whenever she touched herself.  It was so very different from the peaches and cream complexion she’d had as a boy.  However she was happy she’d had such a drastic change - it meant she would be a very powerful witch.  All of her sisters were still the same nationalities and races that they had been before their transformations, but Simon was unique. 

“You’re going to be the most powerful witch our clan has seen in over 500 years,” his sister Raven said.  “Lucky bitch.”  Simon smirked at her sister’s mock whining.  The new girl had prepared for years for her big day, but she never expected to be so special. She could feel the energy pulsing beneath her skin, ready to burst from her fingers and do her bidding.  She could hardly wait to begin her training so she could learn her true power! 

Of course, it would mean leaving her old life behind.  None of Simon’s friends would know this new girl.  She would have to go train with an aunt or her older sister.  However, all of that wouldn’t happen until after the clan inducted her into the circle. 

“Will the others be here tonight?” 

“All the of our sisters and aunts will be there and every one of them wants to welcome you into the circle.  I just hope you’ve thought of a proper name for yourself.”

“I have,”  the new girl said as she turned back to her reflection. “Katya.  It just feels like. . . me.”  Katya touched the ring hanging from the chain around her neck and smiled.  At last she was truly herself.
