“I can’t believe you would let the sun beat you home, young man!” Angie’s mock anger did not fool her son as his heels clicked across the floor.  He offered a smile, his makeup still immaculate despite being out all night.  Angie couldn’t help but feel the flutter of pride when she saw Riley’s appearance.

“I’m hardly a child, mother,” The pretty youth’s voice came out soft and sultry, just as they had practiced.  She couldn’t find any hints of the gruff male voice Riley has been born with.  “Aren’t you the one who’s always praising my intuition?”

“Does that intuition have anything to do with the limo that just dropped you off?”  The sexy boy smiled as he flounced past his mother, giving her a peck on the cheek.

“It might,” Riley offered as she snuggled against her fur.  

“At least you learned something from me.” Angie said as they walked to the kitchen. “High standards yield high results.”

“I learned everything from you!  I learned how to dress from the inside out to make sure I always feel my most feminine.  You showed me how to coordinate my accessories and outfits.  You taught me how important it is to pick a good salon.  Most of all, you taught me how to make sure my little secret stays secret.”

“I see you also learned how to look fabulous no matter what the situation.  I couldn't’ be prouder.”

“You might be when I tell you about last night.  Pour us some cups and I’ll tell you all about the handsome man who escorted me home….”
